Who We Help

Who Does the River Bend Food Pantry Help?

Our service is available to anyone living in Posey County, Indiana, or any transients who are working within the county on a short term basis.  The only  requirement to receive food at the pantry is to have a photo I.D. and a current utility bill (Water or Electric). Anyone meeting those requirements will be offered assistance.   We provide households with 2-3 days of emergency food supplies once per month.  A household that is in a more dire situation may visit the Black Township Trustee’s Office to ask for special assistance.  The township trustee’s can then call the food pantry to request a special second order for that household.

In 2016, we served 6,897 individuals, followed in 2017, where we served 7,378 individuals.  We anticipate that our numbers will continue to increase.
